Options
Find the perfect class for your little swimmer
We know that not every child will fit neatly into the descriptions below. Should you have any questions regarding your child's skill level or which class they should attend, please feel free to contact us.
POLLYWOG (18mo to 3yrs)
2 weeks (Monday-Thursday)
2 kids/per class (or 4 with another instructor present)
30 minute lessons
The goal of this class is to get the student acclimated to the water. We will work on the proper ways to enter/exit the water, wall hang, blowing bubbles, prone and supine floats with assist, safe submerging, kicking, stroking. All classes will be taught the "rules of the pool"
TADPOLE (2yrs to 4+yrs)
2 weeks (Monday-Thursday)
4 kids/per class
30 minute lessons
The goal of this class is to learn the "rules of the pool", learning to prone and supine float independently, comfort submerging, prone and supine glide, glide with kick, free style stroke, Spider-Man crawl, roll to the back.
MINNOW (4+yrs)
2 weeks (Monday-Thursday)
2 kids/per class (or 4 with another instructor present)
30 minute lessons
The goal of this class is to reiterate "rules of the pool", Spider-Man crawl, prone float and glide with kick, supine float and glide with kick, basic freestyle, intro to backstroke, learning breath control, beginning diving, intro to side breathing.
DOLPHINS (6+yrs)
2 weeks (Monday-Thursday)
2 kids/per class (or 4 with another instructor present)
30 minute lessons
Reiterate "rules of the pool", Spider-Man crawl, floating and gliding prone and supine with and without kick. Endurance and stroke refinement for freestyle and backstroke, side breathing freestyle, beginning diving, intro to breast stroke, intro to butterfly
SHARKS (swim team & BSA Merit Badge readiness)

Swim team and BSA Merit Badge readiness - Pool rules and water safety, treading water up to five minutes, endurance and stroke refinement of all strokes, beginning turns, jump feet first into water over the head, level off, and begin swimming, swim 75 yards in a strong manner using one or more of the following strokes: side, breast, trudgen, or crawl, swim 25 yards using an easy resting backstroke, the 100 yards must be completed without stops and must include one sharp turn, rest by floating.... long enough to demonstrate ability to rest when exhausted (taken from the BSA website http://meritbadge.org/wiki/index.php/BSA_Swimmer_test)
